Disney Limited Edition 17" Belle Doll

Limited Edition 17" Belle

Here she is! I went by the mall today to pick her up, and she looks just as gorgeous as I remember seeing when I paid for her 2 months ago. I was super excited when I heard about the doll coming out and even more so when I saw the first released photos of her! I am so glad that they chose the winter red dress and cape for the limited edition doll. I think that this dress is just so much more elegant and regal looking (not that I don't like the gold ball gown as well), but this one really lends itself to intricate details better than I think the gold dress would.

Check out my photos below for a close-up look at the detailing on her dress, her lovely hair and pleasant expression.  :)

Here are some more up-close ones of Belle's gorgeous dress!

Look at her gorgeous waves.

Such a gorgeous crimson rose pattern to the fabric

Love the bell sleeve- no pun intended!

Such exquisite and intricate gold stitching

Below is the receipt I received after purchasing the doll back in early August. I have a photo of the original voucher I received when lining up as well which I will find and upload. Belle is one of the first limited edition Disney dolls I have ever purchased (aside from Alice and Iracebeth, who I didn't have to line up for) because I only recently started collecting Disney dolls. The whole experience of lining up to get a voucher is totally new to me and it is a process I don't particularly like. I had been into my local store a few days before and asked about the process; where I needed to line up and at what time to arrive. I believe the pre-sale was on a Tuesday, and luckily I had taken some time-off from work and was able to go.

My local mall was open to the public at 7am for the early morning mall walking group, and I'm sure most people likely arrived then. I was way too tired to get my butt out of bed for 7am so I ended up getting there around 8am. There were already at least 15 people, possibly a few more, lining up outside of The Disney Store and over the next hour there were about 4-5 people who lined up behind me. The whole time I waited I was worrying that they might not have enough vouchers for the Belle doll that I wanted! I literally held my breath as the 2 Disney staff members were handing out the vouchers for Belle, Gaston, and The Beast. I was overjoyed when one of the staff asked me what doll I came for, and when I answered Belle, handed me a voucher. I received the very last voucher for Belle, and that made my day!

I felt so bad for this one girl in line behind me who had been waiting for a Belle voucher also, and who started crying when she didn't receive one. I just dislike how this system of selling dolls really promotes scalping, and a lot of the people buying these limited edition dolls are doing so only in order to sell them. Actual collectors and interested buyers often miss out and are then forced to buy on the re-sell market, which is unfortunate for the people who really want them. So I consider myself very lucky to have gotten this doll.

RAINBOW BRITE + DISNEY SHOPPING HAUL

Hello! It is a rainy and damp day here and I'm on my lunch at work; so what better time than this to make a blog post!? I was at the Eaton Centre on the weekend and happened to stop by Hallmark and (what else?) The Disney Store. I ended up picking up a few things and will share what I found there.

Ok, so I popped into Hallmark first and noticed a postcard stand for Toronto and Canada postcards. Since I'm on Postcrossing.com I picked up a bunch because they aren't easy to find these days. I mostly buy online, but I love ones from The Postcard Factory so, alas, my mini postcard haul.

Postcards from Hallmark

New Rainbow Brite Toys

I heard a while ago that Hallmark was going to carry some new Rainbow Brite products via their website, and I had totally forgotten about it until I took a walk through the store. If you haven't heard of Rainbow Brite before, I can fill you in a tad. It is a line of toys and books (and I believe that is it) from the early-mid 80s. They included the Rainbow Brite dolls, Sprites (they had a new one at the store but I didn't get it!) Starlight the Unicorn, a cat and a dog. Since the line came out a few years before I was born I never had any of these toys unfortunately. But that's okay, thanks to the internet I was able to buy a couple of vintage Rainbow Brite toys which I will share in a future post! ;)

I just love how cute and bright and colourful the toys are, and their uniqueness. I think they also produced some new Rainbow Brite dolls back in 2009, but I wasn't collecting or interested in toys back then so I had absolutely no idea. Moving onto Disney...

Anna, Belle, Tinker Bell!
I picked up a few dolls at the Disney Store, and although I wanted to pick up more (some plushies, and a mug) I reigned myself in and stuck with these three gems. Check them out!

Animators' Tinker Bell

Anna Toddler Doll
I was surprised to find this Anna Toddler doll here, as I thought this doll had been released a while ago. I think she is adorable, and the sparkly dress is so cute, and it was the last one so I grabbed it immediately! I only wish there had been an Elsa doll as well :(

2016 17" Singing Belle

I decided to unbox Belle and can show what she looks like entirely, as well as how her dress spins when Mrs. Potts sings! I meant to upload a little vid, so that is coming soon! She is very pretty, but I will save my little review for my next post.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful (and hopefully stress-free) day!

Disney Store BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 2016 Collection Haul

Be My Guest...      A Beauty and the Beast Haul

Above is what I purchased at the Disney Store a few weeks ago. I came in for a peek on a Thursday or Friday on my lunch break and to my pleasant surprise they had received their BATB inventory for the collection that coincides with the upcoming 25th Anniversary of the original 1991 film. I have always loved Beauty and the Beast so I unleashed my childhood self and took a good look around. I will go through what I bought!

2016 Disney Store Deluxe Set

I was excited to find the Deluxe Doll Set, as I had seen this on the disneystore.com website and thought it looked really nice. I love the fact that Belle is wearing her outdoor winter outfit, and the fact that it comes with all the characters and pieces from the film. I believe I bought this set during their sale week, so I saved some money on this pricey set (it is about $ 90 in Canada I believe).

The set comes with Belle's horse, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and a few other pieces. I will do an unboxing of this set to show what everything looks like up close. This set is still available in store and online.

The only reservation I have about this set is the fact that they did not make the Beast's head removable and have the true face of the Prince underneath. They did this with the mini doll set which is a really cool idea.

I just HAD to pick up some plushies because they look exactly like the characters in the film! Above you can see Cogsworth, Lumiere and Fifi.

I think Mrs. Potts and Chip are my favourites of the plushies, look how adorable they are!

Here is the Belle Animators Mini Doll set. It comes in a cute little container along with some little accessories. This set is very sparkly, and you can see the sparkles on Belle's dress, the horse & pig, and the hooves of the little sheep. Below is the BATB Mini Doll Set which comes with Belle in her golden gown, Gaston, and the Beast in human form. He comes with his Beast form face which you can put over his head.

Beauty and the Beast Mini Doll Set

I also ended up buying a single 12" Belle and a single Beast doll who I will share in a future post. We will have to wait and see what else will be coming soon! I can't wait!
