Disney's Cinderella and Lady Tremaine Fairytale Designer Collection Dolls 2016

Disney Cinderella & Lady Tremaine Fairytale Designer Dolls

Good afternoon! It is a beautiful sunny and crisp Fall Saturday and I have been feeding the squirrels, chipmunk and Blue jays who visit/live in my backyard all morning. They are eating us out of house and home! Today I'm sharing one of the new Disney Fairytale Designer Collection dolls I bought a few weeks ago. I took these photos right after I bought the doll back in September, but I am very late in getting this posted! I bought this set in store, although I had to drive to a Disney Store in another town because my local store was sold out! I am very glad that I decided to get this set as I think it is my favourite out of the new collection, despite the fact that Cinderella is not my favourite out of the Disney Princesses.

Gorgeous Fairytale Designer Collection Bag

Here is a look at the front of the doll set. It displays wonderfully and I have it sitting next to my Rapunzel and Mother Gothel set.

Yes, Cinderella's dress is supposed to be ripped. This set is inspired from one of the scenes in the animated film where her evil stepsisters and stepmother ruin her handmade dress and rip her pearls so Cinderella won't be able to make it to the Ball. However, that is before Cinderella's Fairy Godmother shows up to help, so here is a happy ending.
Lady Tremaine and Lucifer

Lady Tremaine, the evil Stepmother that she is, has her hand on Cinderella's necklace and is about to pull it off. Cinderella has an innocent and worried look to her. Most Cinderella dolls produced have her hair up in a bun and wearing the blue dress modelled after the look that she wears to the Ball. What is neat and unique in this set is that Cinderella's hair is down, and her look is one you don't ever see, which is the outfit she created for herself. I like that Cinderella's hair is down because in the actual animated film her hair is (save for the Ball) always worn down with a ribbon.

Cinderelly!

Cinderella is so delicate looking and I love the soft colouring given to her with her golden hair and pearly-pink dress. Lady Tremaine's face is full of expression with that venomous look! I love the shape of her jaw and the face mould they used, it is a wonderful recreation of her animation.

I love Lady Tremaine's gorgeous 19th century dress. It is made of a beautiful rich coloured silky fabric of royal blue and burgundy with a silver stitched pattern and silver jewel accents. So pretty!

Lucifer is Adorable
I love, love, love that this set came with Lucifer! It is such an adorable addition and they made him absolutely adorable and highly detailed. Honestly, I think he is part of the reason I felt I had to get this doll set!

I love Cinderella's beautifully layered and detailed dress. I think it is lovely!

Certificate of Authenticity
I am so glad I bought this set, and have not gotten any of the others. I was debating whether or not to get the Alice and Queen of Hearts set, but I'm not even sure at this point if my local store has any left. I know that the Belle and Gaston set sold out really fast, and it sold out on the Disney website as well.

I admit that I love the Belle doll in the set, but I was disappointed in the Gaston doll. I feel that Disney "cheaps out" on the male dolls because their clothing seems to be pretty basic and not highly detailed, and they ALL have plastic hair! Come on, I think it is just being extremely cheap, especially in the expensive Limited Edition dolls, to have dolls with plastic hair. So that is why I didn't jump on getting the Belle set, even though she was gorgeous.

I was also disappointed in how basic the Princess Aurora and Maleficent doll set looked (in my opinion). I think Maleficent looked really cool with the raven on her shoulder and all that, but the Aurora doll was highly disappointing. Her blue dress is rather basic and not as detailed as those in previous collections, and her expression is kind of silly looking. It kind of looks like she is grinning or smiling, when she is supposed to be in a trance with a serious expression on her face. I'm not a big fan of any Disney Princess Aurora doll in general to be completely honest. I think they could do a much better job of her, because I think she is gorgeous in the animated film.

So, this might be the only LE Fairytale Designer Collection doll set I pick up out of this collection, I'm not sure.

Well, that is all for this post. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful Saturday!

Disney's MOANA Doll Haul

Disney's Moana Toddler and Classic Dolls
Hey there! I thought I'd share a couple of new dolls I picked up last week from The Disney Store. Disney's MOANA! I picked up the Moana toddler doll and the Moana Classic doll. I was just on thedisneystore.com and noticed that Disney has also released a Moana Singing Feature Doll Set which I will have to pickup sometime in the near future! I am pretty obsessed with Disney's singing dolls, whether they be 11" or 17". But for now I have these two beautiful dolls!

I remember having seen the commercial for the animated film sometime within the past month or two and I thought it looked like an awesome adventure! I am quite pleased that Disney has created a film with an athletic and adventurous heroine, and a beautiful princess of colour. She is Disney's first Polynesian Princess!

Moana Toddler Doll
Here is the Moana Toddler doll...isn't she just ADORABLE!? I love all of the extra little details that Disney put into her including the flower in her hair and the sand stuck to her feet. Her facial expression is absolutely adorable, and I think she is honestly one of the cutest Disney Toddler dolls. I learned upon purchasing her (from a wonderfully informative Disney Store employee) that the bangs on each Moana doll differ slightly to reflect the Ocean's waves and her connection to the ocean. How cool is that?

Here is a partial unboxing of the Classic Moana doll. She slid easily out of the box, and the cardboard piece that she is attached to actually turns into a boat! The cardboard piece in front was floating in the box and that is supposed to be the boat's sail. Instructions are included on how to put the sail together. The only other accessory she comes with is her paddle.
Moana in Box

Isn't she gorgeous?!

Look at those forearms! At first I thought she was a bit disproportionate because her forearms appeared much larger than her upper arms and shoulders; I then thought perhaps they are larger looking because of the muscle she has gained there due to her sailing and paddling?

I love her raised eyebrow and beautiful smile. She is wearing a pretty burnt orange top with a variety of pattern, and a matching sash tied around her waist. Her skirt is an oatmeal colour with a deep golden floral pattern and a frayed straw-like bottom. It is lovely and represents her cultural heritage as a Pacific Islander.

Moana has thick and sturdy rubber legs and feet. Her arms and hands are articulated, but her legs are not. Her legs are quite moveable, however, and they can be spread wider so she is able to stand upright with little help.

Moana has big, beautiful hair. Her curls are voluminous and very soft.

I am very pleased with both dolls, and am overjoyed to have both of these dolls in my collection. I will have to check out the film when it comes out! :)

Disney Limited Edition 17" Belle Doll

Limited Edition 17" Belle

Here she is! I went by the mall today to pick her up, and she looks just as gorgeous as I remember seeing when I paid for her 2 months ago. I was super excited when I heard about the doll coming out and even more so when I saw the first released photos of her! I am so glad that they chose the winter red dress and cape for the limited edition doll. I think that this dress is just so much more elegant and regal looking (not that I don't like the gold ball gown as well), but this one really lends itself to intricate details better than I think the gold dress would.

Check out my photos below for a close-up look at the detailing on her dress, her lovely hair and pleasant expression.  :)

Here are some more up-close ones of Belle's gorgeous dress!

Look at her gorgeous waves.

Such a gorgeous crimson rose pattern to the fabric

Love the bell sleeve- no pun intended!

Such exquisite and intricate gold stitching

Below is the receipt I received after purchasing the doll back in early August. I have a photo of the original voucher I received when lining up as well which I will find and upload. Belle is one of the first limited edition Disney dolls I have ever purchased (aside from Alice and Iracebeth, who I didn't have to line up for) because I only recently started collecting Disney dolls. The whole experience of lining up to get a voucher is totally new to me and it is a process I don't particularly like. I had been into my local store a few days before and asked about the process; where I needed to line up and at what time to arrive. I believe the pre-sale was on a Tuesday, and luckily I had taken some time-off from work and was able to go.

My local mall was open to the public at 7am for the early morning mall walking group, and I'm sure most people likely arrived then. I was way too tired to get my butt out of bed for 7am so I ended up getting there around 8am. There were already at least 15 people, possibly a few more, lining up outside of The Disney Store and over the next hour there were about 4-5 people who lined up behind me. The whole time I waited I was worrying that they might not have enough vouchers for the Belle doll that I wanted! I literally held my breath as the 2 Disney staff members were handing out the vouchers for Belle, Gaston, and The Beast. I was overjoyed when one of the staff asked me what doll I came for, and when I answered Belle, handed me a voucher. I received the very last voucher for Belle, and that made my day!

I felt so bad for this one girl in line behind me who had been waiting for a Belle voucher also, and who started crying when she didn't receive one. I just dislike how this system of selling dolls really promotes scalping, and a lot of the people buying these limited edition dolls are doing so only in order to sell them. Actual collectors and interested buyers often miss out and are then forced to buy on the re-sell market, which is unfortunate for the people who really want them. So I consider myself very lucky to have gotten this doll.
