RAINBOW BRITE + DISNEY SHOPPING HAUL

Hello! It is a rainy and damp day here and I'm on my lunch at work; so what better time than this to make a blog post!? I was at the Eaton Centre on the weekend and happened to stop by Hallmark and (what else?) The Disney Store. I ended up picking up a few things and will share what I found there.

Ok, so I popped into Hallmark first and noticed a postcard stand for Toronto and Canada postcards. Since I'm on Postcrossing.com I picked up a bunch because they aren't easy to find these days. I mostly buy online, but I love ones from The Postcard Factory so, alas, my mini postcard haul.

Postcards from Hallmark

New Rainbow Brite Toys

I heard a while ago that Hallmark was going to carry some new Rainbow Brite products via their website, and I had totally forgotten about it until I took a walk through the store. If you haven't heard of Rainbow Brite before, I can fill you in a tad. It is a line of toys and books (and I believe that is it) from the early-mid 80s. They included the Rainbow Brite dolls, Sprites (they had a new one at the store but I didn't get it!) Starlight the Unicorn, a cat and a dog. Since the line came out a few years before I was born I never had any of these toys unfortunately. But that's okay, thanks to the internet I was able to buy a couple of vintage Rainbow Brite toys which I will share in a future post! ;)

I just love how cute and bright and colourful the toys are, and their uniqueness. I think they also produced some new Rainbow Brite dolls back in 2009, but I wasn't collecting or interested in toys back then so I had absolutely no idea. Moving onto Disney...

Anna, Belle, Tinker Bell!
I picked up a few dolls at the Disney Store, and although I wanted to pick up more (some plushies, and a mug) I reigned myself in and stuck with these three gems. Check them out!

Anna Toddler Doll
I was surprised to find this Anna Toddler doll here, as I thought this doll had been released a while ago. I think she is adorable, and the sparkly dress is so cute, and it was the last one so I grabbed it immediately! I only wish there had been an Elsa doll as well :(

I decided to unbox Belle and can show what she looks like entirely, as well as how her dress spins when Mrs. Potts sings! I meant to upload a little vid, so that is coming soon! She is very pretty, but I will save my little review for my next post.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful (and hopefully stress-free) day!

DISNEY'S Elena of Avalor Doll Haul

DISNEY's Elena of Avalor Feature Doll Set!

Princesses Isabel and Elena
I picked up the Elena of Avalor Feature Doll Set

and the single Elena doll at the Disney Store about a month ago. I had spotted them on the website first and was super excited to see them finally arrive at the Disney Store. Elena is a beautiful doll, and Isabel is absolutely adorable! I have taken plenty of pictures which show the differences between the 12" singing Elena and the regular 12" Elena. Below you can see how the regular Elena has non -articulated rubbery legs, as opposed to singing Elena who has hard plastic legs which are articulated at the knee and ankles.
Regular Elena

Regular Elena comes with her stick?, which is essentially a thick piece of string. It is pretty flimsy and floppy and does not stand straight easily.

Singing Elena Feature Doll
Personally, I like the jeweled torch singing Elena comes with, it looks nicer and displays better.

Singing Elena

Singing Elena vs. Regular 12" Elena

I absolutely love singing Elena's bright red dress with a beautiful floral design. I love both dresses, but prefer this one to regular Elena's because of the added colours.

Princess Isabel Doll
I LOVE the Princess Isabel doll and think she is so cute! I also love her little dress which is a beautiful soft, sparkly bright pink with a strip of golden yellow down the centre. The soft floral design and puff sleeves top it off. She has an adorable heart shaped face, big brown eyes and really cute curled bangs as you can see below.

Like Elena's hair, Isabel's hair came crunchy and held in position with gel which makes it fairly impossible to brush or style.

Isabel post-hair wash

Above you can see what Isabel's hair looks like after I washed it with conditioner. This rid the hair of its crunchiness caused by being held in place by gel. To me, the hair is of  great quality and is very soft and shiny. Below you can see Elena's hair after I conditioned hers as well. It looks so long and luxurious!

Unfortunately I had to leave singing Elena's hair alone because she is a singing doll and I was afraid of getting water on her back. Oh well, she will still display quite nicely.
